Dr Lisa McDonald was Chair of the Board of the Horse Federation of South Australia Inc. (Horse SA) from 2019 - 2022, and Vice-Chair following that time until February 2023. Lisa joined the Board in 2019. While Chair, she led the organisation through a period of significant change, where a number of organisational and capacity building ventures followed. Most notably, a federally funded Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grant, to the value of $726,000, was achieved in 2022 to build the Safer Equine Bushfire Refuge in collaboration with the Murray Bridge Racing Club.
